Apparently
quite a few years ago, roofing companies changed the formula used on the
back of the roofing shingles. The new backing lasts longer but
is more conducive to the growth of algae. Now just after a few years, the roof
starts showing those ugly black stains - especially on the North side.
In no time, a new roof can look old, ugly & worn out! Our 6 year old
textured roof just started to stain last year. I found out that most
roofing companies recommend scrubbing with a chlorine solution that
ruins the roof and kills your plants. After a bit of
research, I found only one single company in Maryland that uses a
patented solution supplied by
"American Roof Brite®". The
process is absolutely safe for you, your roof, and your plants!
After cleaning, the
roof is treated with a special substance that keeps it looking brand
new. The company was called Exterior Concepts and they are the
only authorized dealer in Maryland. The roof looked brand new and
cleaning was far less expensive than replacing the roof. The cleaning
and treatment is only done between April and September. I've
recommended this service to several clients who are getting their homes
ready to sell. They are astonished by the results and wished they had
done it sooner. |
