RE:     Greenwood Elementary School

Greetings Mr. McEwen

Greenwood Elementary School in collaboration with our Greenwood School Parent Teacher Association is participating in an activity with the Department of Environmental Protection tied to our onsite school storm drains as well as those in the local vicinity of Greenwood.

Our project in nearly ready to go, including our eligibility in with the DEP’s storm drain art project that will take place next school year.  However, I am writing to you today to make you aware of an activity that will be going on throughout the Tanterra neighborhood as part of our culmination of Earth Week. Our students with their parents will be marking the Tanterra neighborhood storm drains in accordance to DEP guidelines on Saturday, April 27th.  If you could send correspondence to the neighborhood not to park in front of the storm drains on this day so we may easily access them, it would be appreciated.

If you have any questions or concerns about this Earth Week outreach please contact Jessica Bernstein, who is not only the CoChair of Earth Week at Greenwood, but also a Tanterra resident.  You are also welcome to reach me by phone at 240-740-3420 or via email at Carrie_L_Zimmerman@mcpsmd.org

Sincerely,

Carrie Zimmerman

Principal
